Sri Lanka is full of places worth discovering, and choosing where to go is only the beginning. Before a traveller arrives there are questions a plan on paper rarely answers. That is where the idea behind SelFly began.

Travel is more than moving

We didn't want travellers to simply move from one place to another.

You don't experience Sri Lanka by ticking destinations off a list. Every place is different. Some deserve an early start. Some need more time than travellers expect. So we started thinking about travel differently.

Understanding the places

So we began with the places themselves.

We wanted travellers to understand a place before adding it to a journey. What it offers, what to expect, how much time it needs. Enough to make their own decisions, because the journey should belong to them.

Freedom

A good plan should never take away the freedom to travel.

A journey can change. You might want to stay somewhere longer, or take a slower morning. A plan should give a journey direction, not turn it into instructions. You choose the places. You choose the pace.

Before the journey begins

Planning starts long before the journey does.

For some travellers, Sri Lanka is completely new. Money, transport, trains, food, SIM cards, customs. The SelFly guides answer the practical questions travellers have before they arrive, whether they want the whole picture or a single answer.

Uncertainty.

You should never have to travel around it.

You should know what you are paying for and how it is priced, without wondering through the whole trip whether charges will appear later. That clarity should not end when the journey begins.

The journey continues

Your journey shouldn't disappear once you start travelling.

The Travel Dashboard keeps your itinerary, trip details and travel information in one place. Vehicle odometer readings are updated there throughout the trip, so you can follow the real distance travelled whenever you want to.

Why all of this exists

None of this was built to make travel more complicated.

It was built to take some of the uncertainty out of travel. To help travellers understand before they arrive. To give them more freedom while they travel. To keep the journey clear, and their own.
