Privacy Policy
Your privacy, kept simple.
We collect the smallest amount of information needed to plan your trip, keep you informed, and get you safely from one stop to the next. Nothing more, and never sold.

Who we are
- SelFly is a Sri Lanka trip-planning and private transport service, reachable at support@selfly.lk. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.
- If you have any question about your data, or want to exercise your rights, email support@selfly.lk and we'll respond within 24 hours.
What we collect
- Booking details: your name, email, phone number, country, travel dates, vehicle preference, and any special requests you tell us about.
- Trip plans: the destinations, sites, and notes you save while building an itinerary.
- Conversation history: when you reach out via WhatsApp or email, we keep a copy so we can serve you well.
- Browser basics: your device type, browser, language, and pages you visit on selfly.lk (used to improve the site).
How we use it
- To craft and confirm your custom itinerary.
- To coordinate drivers, vehicles, and stops on your trip.
- To send you booking updates, your reference number, and travel reminders.
- To answer your questions over WhatsApp, email, or phone.
- To improve the website experience based on aggregated, non-personal usage patterns.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal data, ever.
- We don't share your information with third parties for advertising.
- We don't book hotels for you. You handle accommodation directly with hotels you choose.
- We don't collect or process card payments online, and we don't store any payment card details. Payment for your trip is arranged directly with us in person or by bank transfer.
Cookies & local storage
- We use your browser's local storage to remember your trip plan, language preference, and currency choice, so you don't have to start over each visit.
- We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
- You can clear local storage anytime from your browser settings. It will only reset your preferences, not delete your booking with us.
How we protect your data
- Booking information is stored securely and access is limited to staff who need it to serve your trip.
- Connections to selfly.lk are encrypted (HTTPS).
- We keep booking records only as long as needed to deliver your trip and meet any legal or accounting requirement, after which they are removed.
Sharing with drivers & partners
- We share only the minimum trip details with our drivers and local partners: your name, contact, pickup/drop-off, and itinerary.
- If you ever book through a partner travel platform, your booking details would reach us via that platform's secure connection.
Service providers we rely on
- We use trusted third-party services to run SelFly, including website hosting, database storage, email delivery, maps, and currency conversion.
- These providers process data only on our behalf and only as needed to operate the site and your booking. We don't allow them to use your data for their own marketing.
Where your data is processed
- Some of the services we rely on, such as hosting, database, and email, may store or process your information on servers located outside Sri Lanka.
- Where this happens, we rely on your consent and on the need to perform your booking, and we take reasonable steps to keep your data protected, in line with Sri Lanka's Personal Data Protection Act.
Children's privacy
- We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
- If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, contact us and we'll delete it promptly.
Your rights
- You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- You can ask us to correct or delete your information at any time.
- If you signed up for our newsletter ("THE LETTER"), you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by replying to ask us to stop.
- You can withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time. We'll still send essential booking messages about a trip you've confirmed.
- Under Sri Lanka's Personal Data Protection Act, you also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Authority of Sri Lanka if you're unhappy with how we've handled your data.
Changes to this policy
- We may update this policy from time to time as our service or the law evolves. The 'last updated' date at the top always reflects the current version.
- If we make a significant change, we'll make it clear on this page.
