Colombo

- Colombo runs warmer and more humid than the hills, so pack light, breathable clothing

Kandy
- Dress modestly, and remove shoes and hats before entering temples
- Afternoon weather can turn quickly, so carry a light umbrella
- Wear comfortable shoes; most sites involve stairs and uphill walking
Sigiriya & Dambulla
- Climb before the midday heat sets in for a cooler, more comfortable hike
- The summit stairs are steep and metal sections get hot, so wear grippy shoes
- There's little shade on the rock, so carry water, sunscreen, and sunglasses
