Bentota
- Sunscreen and hydration for the coastal heat and humidity
- Reef shoes are useful on beach sections with rocks or coral
- Mosquito repellent for evenings near the river and lagoon
Galle
- Wear comfortable shoes for the Fort's uneven cobblestones and ramparts
- Dress modestly inside churches and temples within the Fort
- Fort walls near the ocean can get slippery after rain or sea spray
Ella
- Bring a light jacket for cool mornings and evenings
- Trails to Little Adam's Peak and Ella Rock get slippery, so wear grippy walking shoes
- Start hikes early for cooler weather and clearer views
- Leeches are possible on forest trails during rainy months
