- Mosquito repellent for evenings near the river and lagoon
Hikkaduwa
- The coastal sun is strong, so pack sunscreen and stay hydrated

- Fort walls near the ocean can get slippery after rain or sea spray
Mirissa

Ella
- Bring a light jacket for cool mornings and evenings
- Trails to Little Adam's Peak and Ella Rock get slippery, so wear grippy walking shoes

Kandy
